I have lived in the Comox Valley for 36 years and I love our Island. My career was spent as an Ultrasound Technologist, now retired 8 years, so it was a natural move for me to continue making photos with my camera. Although I love colour, I am still drawn to Black & White and all the various shades in between. This photo “Heading Home” is a result of my eye still seeing those many shades of grey. It was taken in downtown Calgary a few years ago. I loved the textures in the wall behind the two men and the light as they stood there waiting for the train. Catching them between the two cars as the train arrived and the few people standing in the train made the story for me.
The majority of my photography is landscape as I love the outdoors but I also volunteer as a photographer at the Georgia Straight Jazz Society in Courtenay.
